Q & A: What about witch hazel?

Hi everyone! I've been getting a lot of questions about witch hazel, and my answer has been "controversial" because there's not a lot of solid information about it, and whether or not it is good seems to depend entirely on how it is made--information to which we don't have access. If you are one of the many asking about witch hazel, give this a read:

Until I see proof that companies can fully vouch for the components of the witch hazel they use in their products, I can't recommend the use of any witch hazel products. It's not a miracle ingredient by any means (there aren't many single ingredients that are so profoundly amazing that their negative side effects are worth the risk), so you're not missing out if you choose to abstain for the time being. Keep using it if it's your favorite thing in the world, but I can't give it my blessing unfortunately.

  1. Hi! I purchased thayers witch hazel rose Petal toner but haven't used it yet cause what you said. This witch hazel is non-distilled so It has no alcohol in it but I does has tannin in it. I really want to use it and I don't want to waste my money but I don't want to get WRINKLES. What should I do? Please.
